1.What will you observer when de shelled egg is placed i purw water? 2.If the above statement is repeated with boiled egg, would the same observation be made? Give reasons(any 2)

1) The shell of an egg is a semi-permeable membrane that can allow water molecules and other small molecules to move in and out of the shell. When the egg is placed in pure water, water molecules will move into the egg through the process of osmosis causing the egg to grow lager. 
2) However. when the egg is boiled first and then placed in water, the egg will just  remain the same in size. This is because, the cells of the membrane of the egg shell will be denatured by the heat and die off and will not allow water molecules to pass through it by osmosis.
