Answer:

Electrolytic Conductors: The conduction in which there is a flow of ions, transfer of matter and chemical changes occur is called as electrolytic conductors. Example: copper, silver etc.

Explanation:

Electrolytic conductors are present in electrolytic solution.

Electrolytes

The electrolytes can conduct electricity only in the molten form or aqueous state and not in any solid state. Some of the typical examples of electrolytes that conduct electricity either in molten form or aqueous state are KNO₃ (potassium nitrate), NaCl (sodium chloride), KCl (potassium chloride), etc.

Electrolytic Conductors

The substance which undergoes decomposition in the case of electrolytic conduction are called as electrolytic conductors. Also, the flow of electricity through such conductors happens due to the movement of ions. As the temperature of the substance increases so the rate of conduction also increases.

Examples: Acids, bases, fused salts

The types of electrolytic conductors are as follows:

  • Strong Electrolytic conductors: Strong acids and bases such as hydrochloric acid, hydrogen nitrate, sulphur dioxide, potassium iodide and inorganic salts are referred to as strong electrolytic conductors. The reason why they are referred as strong electrolytic conductors is that in the aqueous state and molten state, these substances disassociate completely. Hence, they are capable of conducting electricity to a large extent.
  • Weak Electrolytic conductors: Weak Electrolytic conductors include weak acids and bases which have a very low level of disassociation, which is why they conduct electricity only to a small extent. There are some substances, such as sugar and urea, which are not capable of conducting electricity at all, which is why they are referred to as non-electrolytes or non-electrolytic conductors.
