1. H2 (hydrogen) gas is liberated when an acid reacts with metal. we can test this by taking a burning matchstick near the test tube and the matchstick extinguishes with a pop up sound.
2. Reaction of an acid and a base to give salt and water is know as neutralisation reaction.

HCl + NaOH- NaCl +H2O
