- Law of reflection states: "The angle at which a ray is incident on a mirror is equal to the angle at which that ray reflects back in the same medium".
- Deviation angle is the angle made by reflected ray with the direction of incident ray behind the mirror.
- So, deviation angle = 180° - (angle of reflection + angle of incidence) = 180° - (r + i) = 180° - 2i
- For normal incidence, angle of incidence is zero and so the angle of reflection is also zero. Hence, 180° - (0° + 0°) = 180°
