Which rock layer was formed first? second? third?

Explanation:

  1. A-The bottom layer of rock forms first, which is oldest, second is the youngest rock and third on is second-oldest rock.
  2. A-Rock layers closest  to the ground surface are the youngest layer (formed most recently).
  3. A-The principle of superposition states that the oldest sedimentary rock units are bottom and the youngest are the top.
  4. A-sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rocks are formed layer by physical changes such as melting, cooling, eroding, compacting or deforming.
  5. A-Layered rocks from whilst debris settle from water or air. steno's regulation of unique horizontality states that maximum sediments, whilst at the start shaped in which laid down horizontally, many layered rocks are now not horizontal.
