Enzymes are the proteins which are called as bio catalysts some of the functions and properties of enzymes are -

• enzymes are act as catalyst in most of biological activities like digestion, metabolism , blood circulation etc .
• enzymes mostly made up of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen,phosphorus and other metals.

An enzymatic activity example is decomposition of maltose in glucose and fructose in the presence of maltase enzyme.
