Answer:

1 ) A sarpanch or pradhan or mukhiya is a decision-maker, elected by the village-level constitutional body of local self-government called the Gram Sabha (village government) in India. The sarpanch, together with other elected panchayat members (referred to as commissioners or a panch), constitute the gram panchayat.

2)The panchayat is chaired by the president of the village, known as a Sarpanch. The term of the elected representatives is five years. The Secretary of the panchayat is a non-elected representative, appointed by the state government, to oversee panchayat activities.

3) It is the Secretary of the Panchayat who calls the meeting of the Gram Sabha and Gram Panchayat.

1) Sarpanch: In India, the village-level constitutional body of local self-governance known as the Gram Sabha (village government) elects a decision-maker known as a Sarpanch, Gram Pradhan, or Mukhiya. In Hindi, the head of the council is called Sarpanch.

2) The members of the Gram Panchayat are elected by people, but the Secretary is appointed by the State Government.

3) The Secretary is responsible for calling the Gram Sabha and Gram Panchayat meetings, who also keeps a record of the proceedings.
