The story and it's telling makes you aware of your own inner thoughts and behaviour. You become aware of how you are acting in life and what karmic bonds we are forming.

How does the Mahabharata influence you?
Mahabharat is a great epic which explains Satya and Dharma. There are other supplementary components like Ahimsa, Shanti etc. Original Sanskrit version said to contain about one lakh verses. The popular saying about Mahabharat is that “What is there in the world is in Mahabharat and what is not there in Mahabharat is not there in the world”. Mahabharat explains how we should take care to follow Satya and Dharma in our life even to a minute extent to reap the blissfulness in the life. Its difficult to explain in this short note the essence of Mahabharat and so we should try to start reading it at some point of time in our life, squeeze the essence, extract Satya and Dharma slowly, try to understand and follow. The rest is bliss in our life.
