Kalpana chawla was the first Indian women in space . she was selected for the space shuttle Columbia mission as an arm operator, he second mission was in STS-107 , her third and the last mission mission was on the space shuttle columbia , which caught a fire and blasted on the returning way killing Kalpana chawla and her crewmate .
