1)A king is Lokanatha in the sense that he is the ruler or guardian of people (लोकानाम् नाथ:). The beggar as no money and depends on the people so he is the one whose masters or guardians (लोकानामू नाथ) people are ( नाथाः यस्य सः)

2)According to the poet, the very name makes him unable to donate. There is न is the beginning, द in the end and the middle letter is hit by न. So, there are three नन्दन is in the name.
