1) Obtaining a metal from its oxide is much easier than doing that from a metal sulphide or carbonate.

2)When dolomite is crushed, roasted and mixed with seawater in large tanks, magnesium hydroxide settles to the bottom. Heating, mixing in coke, and reacting with chlorine, then produces molten magnesium chloride.  

3) If you pour some dilute ethanoic acid onto some white sodium carbonate  there is an immediate fizzing as carbon dioxide is produced and You end up with a colourless solution of sodium ethanoate.

chemical equation :

Ethanoic acid reacts with sodium carbonate to produce sodium ethonoate, water and carbon dioxide.

  2CH3COOH + Na2CO3 → 2CH3COONa + H2O + CO2
