Chinaware are fragile. This means that during transportation they can easily break if they hit hard surfaces. That is why, when being packed, soft material are added into the packages to prevent breakage. The soft materials cushion the knocks the chinaware might experience.

China & Glassware are wrapped in paper or straw before packing to avoid any breakage during transportation.
There are collision between the packed ware due to jèrk experience during transportation.
But the soft packing material slow down their rate of change of momentum.
The force of impact is reduced & items are not broken.
