1.Ans: India chose the Parliamentary system of the government because of the following reasons. Being a British colony, India was influenced by the British parliament system of governance. To give equal representation to the multiple religious and linguistic groups so that they could elect their representatives.

2.Ans: The Rajya Sabha should consist of not more than 250 members - 238 members representing the States and Union Territories, and 12 members nominated by the President. Rajya Sabha is a permanent body and is not subject to dissolution.
