In the short story 'The Fun They Had' by Isaac Asimov, Tommy compared the real book with his telebooks and called the real book a waste. This was because he thought that after reading the printed books one would have to throw them away as they could not be reused. The words in the printed books stood still and did not move like the words on the screen in his telebooks. Also, he could save many telebooks on the television screen of his mechanical teacher.
