Answer:

Explanation:

1. Why do we see water droplets collected on the outer surface of a glass container, containing ice?

Ans .Sometimes we see water droplets on the outer surface of the glass containing ice-cold water this is because the water vapour presents in air, on coming in contact with the cold glass of water, loses energy and gets converted to liquid state, which we see as water droplets.

2. Explain why solids have fixed shape but liquids and gases do not have fixed shape.

Ans.solids have fixed shape but liquids and gases do not have fixed shape because the intermolecular space between the atoms of solid matter is very very less, the particles just so vibratory and rotatory motion. ... this change in space between the particles make them fixed and unfixed in shape.

3. Pressure and temperature determine the state of a substance. Explain this in detail.

Ans. A solid can be converted into liquid and then to gas by decreasing the pressure and increasing the temperature. ... Every state of matter of any substance is stable at a corresponding pressure and temperature. Thus, temperature and pressure determines the state of a substance.

4. A balloon when kept in sun, bursts after sometime. Why?

Ans. A balloon when kept in sun bursts after some time because outside the temperature is high and due to that the kinetic energy increases and the molecules of gas particles inside exerts a pressure on the walls of the balloon so it will continue to expand and there a stage will come that the balloon will burst..
