1. because it survived so many years of wars and natural disasters. keep in mind the great wall of china was created to keep the Mongols out china. it represents the sweat and tears that each individual who helped build this wall had to suffer through. lets not forget that many of the workers were peasants and prisoners' and although military workers and generals helped build the wall they were given breaks and didn't have as much work assigned to them and were not beaten, furthermore, didn't have to work under poor working conditions without pay and respect.

2. it has given the people of China patriotism and nationalism. The Great Wall protected the development of China's cultural progress and economic development. it allowed for safe passageway through the Silk Road and other trading routes.it secured transmission. furthermore, it represents every thing that China was able accomplish. they look at the wall and feel patriotism and nationalism and patriotism and it allows them to think that they can protect themselves in the future if anything were to happen.
