1) why does a ray of light passing through a glass slab not show dispersion.

2) A ray of light from a point object diverges after reflection or refraction . Is this image formed is real or virtual.

Hey :)

When a light ray is passed through a glass slab, it is actually dispersed while bending but the bending reverses when it passes through a parallel surface.

The image formed is a virtual image because the light ray is diverging.

Hope it helped, and if it did do mark brainliest :)

1) This is because the opposite sides of the glass slab are parallel due to which the ray of light passed through it emerges parallel to the incident ray and hence due to this does not show dispersion.

2) This means that the image is virtual as if the rays are diverging then we have to produce it backwards with a dotted line and the light rays do not actually pass through the backward produced rays and hence forms virtual image. ☺

deepunadkat06: her it's a glass slab
deepunadkat06: that's true u can write this if it is asked for 3 or 5 marks
deepunadkat06: I also knew that
