1)why does DNA replication occur in small replication forks not in its entire length? 2)why is DNA replication continuous and discontinuous in a replication fork? 3)explain the importance of "origin of replication" in a replication fork.

HERE IS YOUR ANSWER

1 __DNA is a macromolecule. Since two strands of DNA can not be separated in its entire length ( due to very high energy requirement ) , the replication occur in small replication fork.

2__ Because polymerisation occurs only in one direction ( 5' to 3') and creates some additional complications at replication fork. So DNA replication is continuous and discontinous.

3__ THIS is the region from where the DNA replication is initiated.
