Question :
Why does the Happy Prince send a ruby for the seamstress? What does the swallow do I the seamstress's house?
Answer :
The Happy Prince sent a ruby for the seamstress as she was extremely poor and could not afford to feed and buy medicines for her child who was sick.
On being convinced by the Prince, the swallow picked out the ruby from the sword and flew to the seamstress' house. On reaching the house, he saw that the seamstress had fallen asleep and the little boy was tossing feverishly on the bed. The swallow laid the ruby on the table and flew gently around the bed, fanning the boy's forehead with his wings. The boy immediately felt cool and with a feeling of improving health, he fell off to sleep.
The Happy Prince sends ruby so that the seamstress can get good amount of money after selling it. With money she can buy medicines for her child. She can be in a position to pay more attention to her child. At present her economic needs don’t permit her to pay proper attention to her child.
The swallow flutters her wings over the sick boy’s head so that he would feel easy. Feeling the relief from high temperature the boy falls asleep.
