Diffusion, being a slow process will take a lot of time to circulate oxygen to all the body cells. Hence, diffusion is insufficient to meet the oxygen requirements of multicellular organisms like humans.

So diffusion is insufficient to meet the oxygen required by the body of multicellular organisms. This is because the volume of human body is so big that air can't diffuse into all the cells present in body at a high speed or rapidly.

Because It is a very slow process and in comparison to plants we are metabolically more active than plants so we need oxygen as compared to plants. Hence diffusion is not sufficient........
