Why is it not advisable to store silver nitrate solution in copper vessel ?
Ans-: Because as per the electrochemical series, copper being more reactive than silver will displace it from its salt forming copper nitrate, CuNO3.....it will defeat the purpose of storage, so it is advised not to keep AgNO3 in copper vessel.
What do you mean by corrosion?
Ans-: Corrosion is when a refined metal is naturally converted to a more stable form such as its oxide, hydroxide or sulphide state this leads to deterioration of the material.
No gas is released when sulphur is added to dilute HCI?
Ans-: No gas is released when sulphur is added with dilute HCl because chlorine is more reactive than sulphur. EXPLANATION: Sulphur appears much below chlorine in the reactivity table and cannot displace chlorine from dilute HCl
