It is not wise to reduce friction because all the vehicle brakes work due to friction.So friction decreases the chance of accidents upto some extent.

It is not wise to reduce friction in every situation. The tiles used on the floors of the bathroom are designed with small grooves or gentle spikes on the surface. Such a design increases the friction between the surfaces of wet floor and protects us from slipping and reducing friction in such situation can be dangerous.
