1. Why is Mrs. Pumphrey worried about tricki?
Answers -
Mrs. Pumphrey was worried about tricki because he had become too fat, energy-less and she also thought that tricki is suffering from malnutrition.
2. What does she do to help him? Is she wise in this?
Answer -
Mrs. Pumphrey did the following things to help Tricki -
She used to give him extra meals to build him. (like some malt, cod-liver oil, a bowl of Horlicks at night to make him sleep. his favourite were biscuits and chocolates.)
Well, She was not wise in doing all these. As Tricki was greedy, so he ate all those things given by her owner. He did not refuse it. He grew fat. He was looking like a bloated sausage with a leg at each corner, bloodshot and rheumy, stare straight ahead and his tongue lolled from his jaw.
3. Whom does 'I' refer to in this story?
Answer -
'I' refer to the narrator, Mr. Herriot. He was a veterinary doctor.
Mrs Pumphrey is worried about Tricki because he is unwell. He has refused to eat food and had bouts of vomiting. She feels that he is suffering from a serious health issue such as malnutrition
Mrs Pumphrey starts giving him extra snacks like malt, cod-liver oil and Horlicks, apart from his main meals, to improve his condition
