Power sharing is necessary in democracy as  John Dalberg-Acto rightly said "power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely."  Power sharing reduces the dictatorship and authoritarian tendencies. It involves the larger participation in political process.

Power sharing reduces the possibility of conflict among various social groups. It brings political stability. Besides it is the spirit of democracy. It balances the states in federation and political parties and members in government.
