1. Why two stroke engine thermal efficiency is less than the four stroke engine

This fuel efficiency in 2 stroke engine is less. But compared to mechanical efficiency, a 2 stroke petrol engine had higher mechanical efficiency because it gives a power stroke for one complete revolution of crankshaft, but the 4 stroke engine gives a power stroke for 2 complete rotations of crankshaft.
