1. Would you consider the bacteria and yeast as plants?

No. Bacteria belong to the kingdom Monera,

  • and yeast belong to the kingdom Fungi. Plants belong to the kingdom Plantae, and are eukaryotic, multicellular, autotrophic organisms. Both bacteria and yeast are unicellular.
  • Bacteria are also prokaryotes, meaning that they lack a membrane bound nucleus. Thus bacteria and yeast cannot to be classified as plants because they lack the characteristics which are common to plants.
