Given :   a perfect square number of three-digit

To Find :  square root by two different method

Solution:

lets take 144   = 12²

to find square root

1st method : factorization :

144 = 2 x 72

= 2 x 2 x 36

= 2 x 2 x 2 x 18

= 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 9

= 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 3

= 2² x 2² x 3²

=>√144 = 2 x 2 x3  = 12

long division method

         12

         144

  1      1

        _____

          044

 22       44

            _____

                 0

√144= 12

9  , 12 and 20

9 = 3 x 3

12 = 2 * 2 * 3

20 = 2 * 2 * 5

LCM = 2 * 2 * 3 * 3 * 5     = 180  is least number

= 2² x 3²  x 5

To be multiplied with 5  to get perfect square

= 2² x 3²  x 5²

= 30²
