1 ) A strange dream

I woke up and realised it had all been a bad dream, I dreamt that one day I woke up and was going to school when I met my friends, they were angry with me because I didnt’t invite them at the party, so I stayed alone for all the morning when, suddenly, all became dark and I was in a wood, there was a strange noise, the trees were black and they didn’t have leaves. It was terrible, I was scared. Suddenly, I saw a wolf, so I started to run but I fell and I opened my eyes. I was happy because I realised that it had all been a bad dream, I woke up and I went to school, I saw my friends and they were happy to see me. We arrived at school but I felt strange and suddenly I heard a voice that said: “I’m going to kill you and your friends.” At first I asked if they heard that voice but they didn’t hear anything and they thought I was crazy! But all became dark like in my dream and we were in the wood I had seen in the dream, I felt the same sensation I had tried at the night. There was a cold wind and I saw strange people, they wore black clothes, my friends and I were scared when I heard the same voice that I had heard before, it wasn’t far. In front of me there was a monster, he had a knife, so we started to run but he was very fast, one of my friends fell, so I went to him.

2 ) KINDNESS TO ANIMALS

Prevention of cruelty to animals must be considered as a very important need. Animals serve us in many ways. The animals which men have bred and trained for their own use and which are often faithful and hard-working servants have a claim upon our mercy and justice. We do not take effective steps for their well being. When domestic animals give Rs 600 worth of products and service to every Indian, we give back only two paise per animal per year.

Work animals and draught animals are often subjected to hard continuous labour. Often they are underfed. Beating, whipping and bruising draught animals are common. Even young animals are put to work. After exploiting them, they are cruelly killed in old-fashioned and unhygienic slaughter houses. It makes one shudder to think what tortures sheep and oxen have to undergo at the hands of cruel men in slaughter houses. Transportation of animals without food and water on foot is common. They are savagely killed in the presence of other animals. Snakes and squirrels are skinned alive. The frog’s legs are cut off, leaving the body to die slowly. Cruelty to wild animals and birds is also on the increase. As a result many of them are on the verge of extinction. How many happy birds are caught and kept in cages to please us their songs! People do not think about the feelings of those poor creatures. Hunting of wild animals for pleasure and money is also on the increase.

3) MY NEIGHBOR

Last Sunday, we shifted into a new government colony. This colony is inhabited by employees of the government. They belong to various departments and ministries. My next door neighbours are very nice. One of them is a police inspector. He has a small family. His son is a college student. He is a very intelligent boy. He often tells me very interesting stories. The police inspector is also very gentle. His habits and temperament are very fine. He considers himself to be the custodian of law and order. He never misuses his powers but always helps others. His wife has a religious bent of mind. She also extends great co-operation and help to all.

MY LOVING PET

Pets are a great blessing in anyone’s life.
