1. Two uses of nitric acid are -
(i) It is commonly used as food processing.
(ii) It is used in the preparation of fertilizers.

Two uses of ammonium hydroxide are -
(i) It is used as extraction of metals.
(ii) It is used as waste treatment.

2. (i) Sodium bicarbonate - common name - magnesia , formula - NaHCO3 , use - It is used to relieve heartburn.
(ii) Potassium nitrate - common name - saltpeter , formula - KNO3 , use - It is used in making gunpowder.
(iii) Calcium carbonate - common name - calcium carbonate , formula - CaCO3 ,
uses - It is used to prevent osteoporosis.
