1. Write, IN ORDER, the digits of the day (1 or 2 digits) ,month (1 or 2 digits), and year (last digit) of your birthday.
For example, 21 April, 2006 could be “2146” or “21046”. Use only 4 or 5 digits.
2. Create a polynomial using your digits, in order. Again, for example, my polynomial could be: ()=2x^3+x^2+4x+6 or()=2x^4-x^3+4x-6noticeinthesecondexample,the0 eliminated the 2nd degree term.
3. Experiment with the shape of your birthday polynomial by changing the signs (+/-) of various terms in your polynomial. Try to create a polynomial with an interesting shape and some turning points. Be creative! You’re trying to express yourself in this graph! *notice the change in the 2 graphs below by just changing 3 positive signs to negative!
4. Analyze your polynomial by finding these characteristics: a. Roots (x-intercepts)
b. F(x) (Y-intercept)
