Arrhenius equation:-

The equation which describes the mathematical relationship between temperature and the rate of a chemical reaction is known as Arrhenius equation.

It is expressed as,

    ✦k = Ae⁻ᴱ/ᴿᵀ

Where,

  • K=Rate of chemical reaction
  • A=Frequency factor
  • E=Activation Energy
  • R=Universal gas constant
  • T=Temperature

◖It helps in understanding the effect of temperature on the rate of a reaction.

◖This equation also tells that uncatalyzed reaction is more affected by temperature than that of a catalyzed reaction.

◖Temperature and rate of reaction are proportional.i.e. as the temperature increases, rate of reaction also increases.

◖This equation can be used to find the temperature, frequency, presence of catalyst, energy barrier.
