1 Write the character sketch of Juliana?
Answers
Answer:
The central character in the novella is an unnamed and unreliable narrator. He is a literary critic by profession, depicted as obsessed and fixated with his idol the late (fictional) poet Jeffrey Aspern. He is portrayed as a schemer with no moral compass, and who would do anything to get the letters sent by Aspern to his former mistress Juliana Bordereau. The narrator is not delusional, for he is fully aware of the immorality of certain acts of his such as the faking of his identity, and his assumed interest and love of gardening. Thus, we can say that the story itself is told from the perspective of the antagonist in a bold admonition of the author to judge the art and not the artist, and therefore enjoy a good tale of mystery and suspense from the lips of its main perpetrator.
