0.5 mol will be the formal answer.

Now , focusing on the equation -

CH4 + O2 ---> CO2 + H2O

( Anything after combustion means

Reaction with oxygen and leaving CO2 and H2O (complete combustion) )

Upon balancing,

1CH4 + 2O2 ----> 1CO2 + 2H2O

Molecular weight of CO2 = 1×12+2×16

Which is 44g/ mol .

Also CH4:CO2 is 1:1 .

So 1/44×22 = 1/2 = 0.5 mol
