Commercially, ethylene is produced by thermal cracking of either naphtha or ethane (C2H6). These are energy-consuming processes that promote rapid coke formation in addition to huge amounts of CO2 emission [2,4,5]. Ethylene can be also obtained by oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) of ethane.
