Explanation: There are many difference  between in metal and non-metal are:-

Lustrous- Most metals can be polished to give a characteristics metallic lustre. A polished surface of aluminium is a good reflector of light. It is used for making mirrors. mercury used in thermometers can be easily seen because of its luster.

While in non- metals generally in the form of powder or are gaseous. They cannot be polished. They do not have any lustre. Diamond, an exception, is highly lustrous.

Malleability- Most metals can be hammered into thin sheets or foils without breaking. This property is known as malleability.

while in non-metals  can be hammered it breaks.

Hardness- (except sodium and potassium all metals are hard) Most metals are hard but all the metals are not equally hard. the hardness varies from metal to metal like iron, copper etc.

while non-metals are not strong they have tensile strenght like graphite sheets.

Sonorous- Metals make a characteristics sound when hit with an object.

while non-metals do not make any characteristics sound whn hit with an object.

HOPE IT'S HELP U:)
