• DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THERMOSETTING AND THERMOPLASTIC POLYMERS :

1. THERMOPLASTIC : These can be remoulded , recast and reshaped.

THERMOSETTING : These cannot be remoulded or reshaped.

2. THERMOPLASTIC : These have linear structures.

THERMOSETTING : These have three dimensional cross linked structure.

3. THERMOPLASTIC : These are formed by addition polymerization.

THERMOSETTING : These are formed by condensation polymerization.

•EXAMPLES :

THERMOPLASTIC : PVC, teflon , etc.

THERMOSETTING : Bakelite,urea formaldehyde resin , etc.
