Two chemical properties of acid.

1 ) Acids reacts with bases to form salt and water which is also known as neutralization reaction.

for eg: i) HCl + NaOH → NaCl + H₂O

in this reaction, hydrochloric acid reacts with sodium hydroxide to form common salt and water. note that we obtain NaCl in liquid form.

2) Acids react with active metals to liberate hydrogen.

for eg: Zn+H₂SO₄ → ZnSO₄ + H₂

this reaction shows displacement reaction.
