  • To find the value of x  we cross multiply the given terms . (-4) ( 1 + x ) = 5 ( 1 - x )

             -4 -4x = 5 -5x \\

  • Taking terms with variables at LHS and constants at RHS.
  • -4x + 5x = 5 -4 \\

                     x = 1  

Hence , value of x is 1.
