Answer:

Let 1/ x be (a) and 1/ y be (b)

a +b = 12 and 3 a + 2b =1

mutiply above by 3

3 a +3b= 36 ( i)

3 a + 2b = 1 (ii)

on subtracting (ii) from (i)

b =35

a = -23

so x= -1 /23

and b= 1/ 35

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

1/x+1/y=12...........eq1

3/x-2/y=1............eq2

now

from equation 1

x+y/xy=12

x+y=12xy

again from eq 2

3x-2y/xy=1

3x-2y=xy
