First we have to understand the relation between LHS & RHS. The key here is that 169 is the square of 13.

That gives us a lot of information. Denominators are equal. Now, the numerators should be equal. Also, if we leave the square root out, numerator should be equal to 14².

This analysis would take a few seconds.

Now, 169 + x = 196
