Answer:

x = ±14

Explanation:

1/(x+6) + 1/(x-10) = 3/(x-4)

=> (x-10+x+6)/[(x+6)(x-10)]=3/(x-4)

=> (2x-4)/[x²-4x-60]=3/(x-4)

=> (2x-4)(x-4)=3(x²-4x-60)

=> 2x²-8x-4x+16=3x²-12x-180

=> 2x²-12x+16=3x²-12x-180

=> 0=3x²-12x-180-2x²+12x-16

=> x²-196=0

=> x² = 196

=> x² = 14²

=> x = ±√14²

=> x = ±14
