Given

X & Y share profit in 5/9:4/9 ratio

Z is admitted

X gives 2/9 and Y gives 3 1/3 from their share

Find

new ratio

Solution

  • Total Sacrifice

(2/9) {3(1/3)} = 6/27 = (2/9)

  • X's Share

(5/9) -(3/9) = (2/9)

  • Y's Share

(4/9) - (3/9) = (1/9)

  • New ratio

X: Y: Z

(2/9) :(1/9) :(2:9)

Hence the new ratio will be (2/9) :(1/9) :(2:9)
