It is not a polynomial bcoz 'x' is placed in the denominator.
According to the rules if any variable is in the denominator then it will not a polynomial

Hey there! Thanks for the question!

Polynomial is a algebraic expression in which the power of the variables involved are non negative integral.

Here,
Given polynomial
 = \frac{1}{x(x + 5)}
=
 \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} + 5x} \\ \\ = {( {x}^{2} + 5x)}^{ - 1} \\ \\

Powers of the variables are negative.

Therefore , \frac{1}{x(x + 5)} being a expression involving non negative integral powers is not a polynomial.
