Step-by-step explanation:

given

1/(x+y) - 1/2x = 1/30

and

5/(x+y) + 1/x = 4/3

now multiply 5 in the first equation

5/(x+y) - 5/2x = 5/30

5/(x+y) - 5/2x = 1/6

now minus second equation

5/(x+y) -5/(x+y) -5/2x -1/x=1/6 -4/3

-5/2x - 1/x = (1-8)/6

(-5-2)/2x = -7/6

-7/2x = -7/6

2x = 6

x = 3

put this value in first equation

1/(3+y) -1/2×3 = 1/30

1/(3+y) = 1/30 + 1/6

1/(3+y) = (1+5)/30

1/(3+y) = 6/30

1/(3+y) = 1/5

3+y = 5

y = 5-3

y = 2

the value of x and y are 3 and 2.
