2) x+y=5––(i)

x-y=3––(ii)

from eq. (i)

x=5-y––(iii)

put eq.(iii) in eq.(ii)

5-y-y=3

5-2y=3

-2y=3-5

-2y=-2

y=-2/-2

y=1

put y=1 in eq.(i)

x+y=5

x+1=5

x=5-1

x=4

X=4 and Y=1
