1. You are given four acid solutions of different concentrations (i) 0.1 M (ii) 0.25 (iii) 0.05 and (iv) 0.01M. Which one is (a) the most concentrated and (b) the least concentrate

According to law of handerson equation, molarity is inversely related to acidity, so 0.1M is least acidic and 0.05 is concentrated

  • The concentration/strength of an acid depends on the number of Hydronium ions present in its solution.
  • The more the number of H⁺ or H₃O⁺ ions in the solution, the more concentrated is the solution.
  • The molarity of a solution gives the number of moles of the solute present per 1 L of the solution.
  • The more the amount of solute present in the solution, the more ions will be present in it.
  • Thus the concentration of acids ∝ The molarity of the solutions.
  • The order of concentration is: 0.25M > 0.1M > 0.05M > 0.01M
