Subject: The migrant crisis during the period of lock-down.

Sir,

Through the light of your esteem newspaper, I would like to draw your kind attention towards the migrant crisis throughout the nation during the period of lock-down. The spread of the pandemic (Covid-19) throughout the country forced the government of India to announce nationwide lock-down. This action was taken by the government on an immediate basis and thus no one could prepare for the same. Though the government made some efforts to provide a meal to all the people who wanted to have it, all these efforts became futile when the labours began to move back to their villages. The unemployment in the villages had forced people to migrate to the metropolitan cities to make a livelihood. Initially, the labours moved with all their own even if they did not have any vehicle they started walking back to their villages. Some of them even did not have anything to eat due to which they lost their lives. Following the spread of the news, some NGOs came forward to provide all possible help to the migrant labours. The government also took some measures such as started the railways and bus services for labours. Now when the workers also do not have anything to do in the villages, they are coming back to the metropolitan cities to resume their jobs. According to me, if the government have given them some funds to meet their daily demand they wouldn't have to move back to their villages. I request you to kindly publish this report in your newspaper so that the workers do not move to their villages and wait for some time and let every business run.

Thanking you

Yours truly
