Answer:

As given one person receives 4÷7 of the total sand , where total sand is equal to 1÷2 tonnes, the sand received by the fourth person is (4÷7)×total sand

The sand received by the fourth person= 2÷7  tonnes

The sand remaining = Total sand - sand received by the fourth person

                                  =(1÷2)-(2÷7)

                                =3÷14 tonnes

3÷14 tonnes of sand is shared equally among three person, therefore the sand received   by each of three builders is 1÷14 tonnes.
