Solution :-

Let us assume that , the first multiple of 10 is x and next is (x + 10) .

A/q,

→ x(x + 10) = 1200

→ x² + 10x = 1200

→ x² + 10x - 1200 = 0

→ x² + 40x - 30x - 1200 = 0

→ x(x + 40) - 30(x + 40) = 0

→ (x + 40)(x - 30)

→ x = (-40) and 30 .

• if x = (-40), => Next number = (-40) + 10) = (-30)
• if x = 30 , => Next number = 30 + 10 = 40 .

Therefore, the required multiples of 10 are 30,40 (Option D).

SOLUTION- Let the first multiple of

10 is x.

And its successive multiple of x is (x+10).

Then as per question ,

x × ( x+ 10) = 1200

x^2 + 10x = 1200

x^2 + 10x - 1200 = 0

x^2 + 40x - 30x - 1200 = 0

x ( x + 40 ) -30 ( x + 40) = 0

(x - 30) ( x + 40 ) = 0

x = 30 , x = -40.

Therefore ,

X= 30 & - 40

if,x= 30 , then numbers are 30,40

if x = -40 , then numbers are-40,-30
