Given,

\[\left( { - 10} \right) + \_\_ = \left( { - 16} \right)\]

Solution,

Know that, \[\left( { - a} \right) + \left( { - a} \right) = - \left( {2a} \right)\]

\[\begin{array}{l}\left( { - 10} \right) + \_\_ = \left( { - 16} \right)\\ \Rightarrow \left( { - 10} \right) + \_\_ = \left( { - 10} \right) + \left( { - 6} \right)\end{array}\]

Compare the both side terms,

\[ \Rightarrow \_\_ = \left( { - 6} \right)\]

Hence the answer will be \[\left( { - 6} \right)\].
